BMW M Safety vehicles at MotoGP™ in India
Did you catch the electrifying MotoGP™ 2023 that roared into India last weekend? Well, here’s a cool tidbit – BMW M cars and bikes took the spotlight as the official safety vehicles of the first ever MotoGP™ Bharat in India, held at the Buddh International Circuit from 22 to 24 September, 2023.
Picture this: four brand new safety vehicles revved up the excitement – three slick safety cars and one mean safety bike. The lineup included the BMW M2, BMW M3 Touring, BMW M5 CS, and the adrenaline-pumping BMW M 1000 RR. Each one ensuring that the race took off and ended with clock work precision.
BMW M Safety Vehicles have been leading the pack for over 25 years as the world’s best motorcycle riders compete at MotoGP™. With MotoGP™ debuting in India, it was an unparalleled chance for motorsport fans to witness these incredible BMW M Safety Vehicles in action, alongside their favourite riders on the racetrack.
The excitement doesn’t stop there for those who were a part of the BMW Excellence Club. Members were in the heart of all the action – from behind-the-scenes action to running into MotoGP™ riders and motorsports legends, the experience was next level.
Let’s talk cars now. The new BMW M2, a compact powerhouse with a 460 hp TwinPower turbo in-line 6-cylinder engine, was all decked out as a BMW M Safety Car. Safety features like a roll bar, RECARO seats, and a fire extinguisher were in place, ensuring safety on the track.
Next up, was the first-ever BMW M3 Touring MotoGP™ Safety Car. Imagine the perfect blend of performance and practicality in a five-door touring model. That’s exactly what this safety car offers – a tribute to 50 years of BMW M and their enduring partnership with MotoGP™.
And finally, the BMW M5 CS. A beast in special Frozen Deep Green metallic paint, it hits 0-100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds, with a top speed of 305 km/h. Pops and bangs are on the house.
Last but definitely not least, was the BMW M 1000 RR MotoGP™ Safety Bike – a super bike homologated for racing and a pure adrenaline rush on the racetrack.
