#GIMS2018: The ultra luxurious Range Rover SV Coupé debuts at Geneva Motor Show

Geneva: The world’s first full-size luxury SUV coupé, the limited-edition two-door Range Rover SV Coupé has been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Created by Land Rover Design and Special Vehicle Operations, SV Coupé is an exemplar of Range Rover design, craftsmanship and capability. It features a seductive body allied to the next-generation of cabin luxury, with the peerless all-terrain ability expected from Range Rover. Only 999 units of these will be hand-crafted by SVO for clients worldwide.

The four seat coupé has a dramatic two-door silhouette and is the most distinguished, luxurious and exclusive Range Rover ever built. Its beautiful proportions and powerful stance gives the SV Coupé an unrivalled on-road presence. The signature floating roof, continuous waist and tapering tail are instantly recognisable Range Rover DNA, yet expressed in a unique way.

SV Coupé’s purity of line is complemented by elegant power-close doors with frameless glass. In combination with the panoramic roof, light floods into the cabin, accentuating the relaxed, sophisticated and contemporary ambience.

Carefully curated body colour combinations, including a new Contour Graphic available in four duo-tone colourways, are offset by unique side vent and grille designs. This is also the first Range Rover with a 23″ wheel option.

Enhanced luxury and craftsmanship extends inside too, with semi-aniline leather front seats comparable to private jets and yachts. Their gradated diamond quilt design is unique to SV Coupé, and each vehicle will be hand-assembled to client specifications.

SV Coupé clients can choose from four front-to-rear contrast interior colourways, or a range of single-tone interior colours. Both are complemented by a choice of three wood veneers. A first for Range Rover is Nautica, which carefully balances heritage craftsmanship with new technology, fusing walnut and sycamore. Optional paint finishes include Liquesence, which brings a sensational liquid metal finish to Range Rover for the first time.

Clients can create a unique vehicle to their exacting taste, with access to 100 more paint colours, plus unique ‘match to sample’ hues, with a range of finishes; duo-tone front and rear leather colours with a bespoke quilt pattern; contrast stitching; headrest embroidery; door handle and tread plate engraving and semi-precious metal badging.

SV Coupé is also the fastest-ever full-size Range Rover, with a top speed of 165 mph.  Powered by a 565 PS 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 petrol powertrain, it hits the 60 mph mark in just 5 seconds.

The suspension is tuned to provide a more driver-focused edge than the standard Range Rover, with a ride height lowered by 8 mm, but will remain composed and comfortable at all times. Plus, the SV Coupé loses none of Range Rover’s legendary all-terrain ability, with 900 mm maximum wading depth, and a maximum towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.

Range Rover SV Coupé sales are anticipated to start from the fourth quarter of 2018, and will be priced from £240,000 in the UK. Going by the encouraging early response, selling 999 of these at that price should be a cakewalk.
