The new BMW 5 Series now comes in a petrol variant

Gurgaon, 03 June 2016: BMW launched the new 520i in India today, marking the entry of the 5 Series sedan in a petrol variant. It would be available at all BMW dealerships from today onwards in a ‘Luxury Line’ variant, at an ex-showroom price of INR 54.00 lacs.

Powered by BMW’s TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, the 520i is agile, responsive and powerful, while being more efficient at the same time. The engine has an output of 135 kW/ 184 hp and a maximum torque of 270 Nm at 1,250-4,500 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds to a top speed of 233 km/h. It is mated with an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with Cruise Control.

The 520i is also equipped with BMW EfficientDynamics that improves both efficiency and driving dynamics. It comes with Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, 50:50 Weight Distribution and other innovative technologies. ConnectedDrive features a multifunction instrument display, iDrive (the on-board Driver Information System), a 25.9 cm color display, navigation with 3D maps & integrated GPS, a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, BMW Apps, Park Distance Control, Rear View Camera and Connectivity through Bluetooth/ USB devices.

With this launch, the 5 Series line up in India now consists of two diesel engines (520d and 530d) which are locally produced in Chennai, and a petrol engine (520i) available as a CBU unit.
