#VolkswagenAmeo launched at INR 5.14 lacs

Mumbai, 05 June 2016: Volkswagen’s first sub 4-metre sedan has been launched at a starting price of INR 5.14 lacs (ex-showroom Mumbai). Initially only the petrol option powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder MPI engine would be available. Mated to a 5-speed manual gear box, it will come in three trims – Trendline, Comfortline and Highline.

Ameo marks the first ever made-for-India carline by Volkswagen, offering the best of technology and safety standards at an attractive price. It is expected to be a strong contender in the compact sedan segment, fighting for a slice of pie with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Ford Figo Aspire.

The Ameo has a number of features including dual front airbags and ABS as standard. Cruise control, rain sensing wipers, anti-pinch power windows in the front & rear, front center arm rest and static cornering light are some of the segment first features. Other features include rear view camera with parking sensors, a touchscreen multimedia music system with Mirror link, iPod connectivity, phonebook/SMS viewer, “Climatronic” automatic AC with dust & pollen filter, electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs with LED turn indicators, cooled glove box, auto dimming IRVM, tilt & telescopic steering wheel, alloy wheels and rear AC vents.
