Bridgestone India Celebrates Changemakers Driving Mobility with Purpose

In an evening that celebrated purpose as much as progress, Bridgestone India hosted the 5th edition of its Mobility Social Impact Awards (MSIA) in Pune. Leaders from industry, government, and the social sector converged under one roof to honour those using mobility as a bridge to empowerment, inclusion, and safety. The spotlight was on ideas that didn’t just travel distances but redefined what access and equality on the move truly mean.

This year, The Association of People with Disability (APD), Bengaluru, received the top recognition in the Empowerment of Vulnerable Communities category for its remarkable Rehab on Wheels initiative; a mobile rehabilitation program that reaches people with disabilities in the country’s remotest regions. Delhi-based Impact Guru Foundation (IGF) was named First Runner-up for its empowering initiatives Empower Her and Mission I-M-Possible, which have transformed over 81 lakh lives through healthcare, education, and skill development. Jharkhand Vikas Parishad was honoured with a Jury Commendation for its community-driven programs fostering sustainable livelihoods and women’s empowerment across rural India.

In the Road Safety Innovation and Excellence category, Chennai-based ALERT (Amenity Lifeline Emergency Response Team) took home the top award for empowering over 4.5 lakh citizens with emergency response training, while SAFE India from Bhubaneswar was recognised as First Runner-up for its #ZoneZero Safe School Zone initiative and driver training programs that have improved safety for thousands of students and motorists.

“Through the Mobility Social Impact Awards, we celebrate changemakers who are redefining mobility for a better tomorrow,” said Mr. Hiroshi Yoshizane, Group President, Bridgestone Asia Pacific and Managing Director, Bridgestone India. “Organisations like Impact Guru Foundation exemplify how innovation and compassion can come together to create lasting social impact.”

The evening was not just about recognition but reflection, on how mobility can extend beyond roads and engines to become a vehicle of transformation.

“Mobility is not just about movement; it’s about enabling access, equality, and empowerment for all,” said Sundeep Talwar, CEO of Impact Guru Foundation. “This recognition from Bridgestone India reinforces our mission to build resilient communities that move forward together.”

Now in its fifth year, the Mobility Social Impact Awards have evolved into one of Bridgestone India’s most defining initiatives. Rooted in the company’s E8 Commitment, and built on the pillars of Empowerment, Ease, Emotion, and Efficiency, MSIA reflects Bridgestone’s global philosophy of “Serving Society with Superior Quality.” It’s a vision that goes beyond tyres and tarmac, focusing instead on building safer, more inclusive communities through purposeful innovation.

With this initiative, Bridgestone India continues to prove that true progress isn’t measured in speed or distance, but in the lives uplifted along the journey.
