The all-new Volvo XC90 gets 266 pre-orders in India. Deliveries start later this month

The Swedish luxury brand has been in India since 2007 and sells five luxury models here - the S60 (sporty sedan), S80 (elegant saloon), V40 Cross Country (adventurous cross country), XC60 (luxury SUV) and XC90 (7-seater luxury SUV). And within two months of its unveiling in India, the new Volvo XC90 has already received 266 pre-orders; all for the top end Inscription model. Deliveries to customers will start later this month.

Truly Scandinavian in its body and spirit, the new 2015 XC90 is built around key elements of Swedish lifestyle: with generous space, the celebration of light and a sharp focus on overall well being. Uncompromising in its safety standard, the new XC90 comes with the Volvo badge of world-class safety assurance, and is probably the safest SUV around the world today.

This is the first new model based on Volvo’s in-house developed Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), and captures its future design direction, incorporating its own range of new technologies.

Globally over 57,000 orders have already been registered, with 76 per cent of customers choosing the top end Inscription model which is designed around customers seeking the ultimate luxury experience. The Torslanda plant in Gothenburg, Sweden has already started up a third production shift to meet customer demand for the new XC90.
