The 2nd edition of ‘Women’s Rally to the Valley’ to celebrate International Women’s Day

The 2016 edition of the ‘Women’s Rally to the Valley’ presented by JK Tyre was flagged off on Sunday morning in Mumbai by Rajkumar Jangid, Zonal Manager (Sales) – West, JK Tyre, Sneha Sharma, JK Tyre Formula 4 national racer and Valsa Nair Singh, Principal Secretary – Tourism and Culture, Government of Maharashtra.

Close to a thousand women came out to celebrate the spirit of womanhood and women empowerment and cheer participants in over 240 cars. Distinguished figures like rallyist Katy Bhathena and Renuka Kripalani flagged off mothers and daughters, mother-in-laws and daughter-in-laws, as they passed through the Bandra Worli Sea Link, Worli Sea Face, Peddar Road, Chowpatty, Marine Drive, Churchgate and head towards their final destination, Aamby Valley.

This year the rally celebrates International Women’s Day, recognising the contribution made by generations of women to society. The initiative also spreads awareness about issues affecting women by displaying impactful social messages.

At the end of the 150.5 kms long drive, winners would be felicitated at a grand closing ceremony at Aamby Valley, where participants would get to rejuvenate at the spa and enjoy live music, food and other fun filled activities. Nine trophies will be given away to the winners, runners up, second runner up, best dressed car, best costume, most glamorous team, best theme (car), best slogan (car) and the eldest women driver. The award ceremony will be held on 08 March 2016.
