Volvo C40 Recharge makes a strong debut in India

Volvo has made quite an impression in the Indian electric vehicle market with its second fully electric car, the C40 Recharge. Consumers and critics alike, have embraced this eco-friendly powerhouse, as bookings crossed the impressive mark of 100 cars within the first month of its launch. The enthusiasm is palpable, and Volvo is leaving no stone unturned to deliver these vehicles promptly. In Delhi and Mumbai, one can see a few of them already on the streets.

Initially introduced at a competitive introductory price, the ex-showroom price now stands at INR 62.95 lacs, effective immediately. Embracing the electrification ambition and witnessing a good response to their electric offerings in India, Volvo has made a few bold moves. The XC40 will now be exclusively available in its all-electric variant, “Recharge,” aligning with Volvo’s commitment to environmental sustainability. To fuel this electrification momentum further, Volvo has unveiled a limited-time “Festive Delight Offer” for customers opting for the XC40 Recharge, adding a special touch to the festive season.

The XC40 Recharge boasts an impressive WLTP range of 418 km (as per WLTP) and 550 km (as per ICAT testing) on a single charge. It features a comprehensive suite of safety features, and sports a youthful, luxurious design. Meanwhile, the C40 Recharge stands as the second EV model from Volvo in India, assembled at their plant at Hosakote in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and comes with an 11kW charger. Sold exclusively online through the Volvo Car India website, customers can place their orders online with a refundable deposit of INR 1.0 lac.

Volvo’s commitment to sustainability is clearly visible in the C40 Recharge, which incorporates eco-friendly elements in its design. The floor carpet set is produced from 71 recycled plastic bottles, and the interiors utilise forest waste, wine corks, and plastic bottles. The interiors and seats are also leather-free.
