Tata’s first electric hatch Tiago.ev launched at an introductory starting price of INR 8.49 lacs

After the very successful Nexon EV and Tigor EV, Tata Motors has added the Tiago.ev to its portfolio at an introductory price starting at INR 8.49 lacs (all India ex-showroom). That makes it the first electric hatch, and the first ever electric passenger car in India in the sub-INR 10.0 lac range. From a consumer’s point of view, adoption of electric vehicle has been slow due to lack of adequate charging infrastructure and affordability. With the Tiago.ev launch, one can now consider an EV within an affordable price range. It would be interesting to see the market open up, with other manufacturers soon jumping in to the fray.

The introductory price would be for the first 10,000 customers, of which 2000 will be reserved for the current owners of Nexon EV and Tigor EV. Bookings for the Tiago.ev will start on October 10, 2022. Customers can reserve their car by paying a booking amount of INR 21, 000, at any authorised Tata Motors dealership or on the website.
