Volkswagen to introduce its premium SUV Tiguan and all new Passat in India in 2017

Mumbai: Volkswagen has announced its India line-up for the year 2017 which includes popular global products like the Tiguan and the Passat. Beginning with the made-in-India, made-for-India Ameo in 2016 and recent introduction of the GTI, Volkswagen is looking to expand its portfolio and reach out to a larger audience. The year 2017 also marks 10 years for Volkswagen in India.

Volkswagen Tiguan

The second generation Tiguan is a best-seller in its class. Based on the MQB (modular transverse matrix) platform, it is already making waves in Europe. The body proportions are sporty and it is powered by a 2.0L TDI engine mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The Tiguan delivers impressive driving performance and blend performance, safety, efficiency and luxury.

Volkswagen Passat

The new Passat is positioned as a benchmark-setting sedan in its segment. Loaded with new technologies, it offers advanced entertainment & safety features. This too is based on the MQB (modular transverse matrix) platform and is powered by the 2.0L TDI engine, mated to a 6-speed DSG gearbox. Comfort, style and sophistication with added driving pleasure is what the new Passat is all about. And for the first time in India, Volkswagen Passat will offer 9 airbags providing additional passenger safety.

The Tiguan and Passat will add to the strength of the Ameo, GTI,  Polo, Vento, Jetta and Beetle in the Indian market, offering customers a wider variety of products to choose from.
