The JTP range of performance vehicles, Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP were launched today. The cars would be available for booking from early November 2018 at select Tata Motors dealership across 15 cities, at a down payment of INR 11,000. Prices start at INR 6.39 lacs for the Tiago JTP and INR 7.49 lacs for the Tigor JTP (ex showroom New Delhi).

JT Special Vehicles (JTSV) is a 50:50 Joint Venture between Tata Motors and Jayem Automotives. The two new sportily designed vehicles are tuned for performance and aim to bring back the joy of motoring in everyday commute.

The JTP range has been designed and engineered to keep the excitement & passion of motoring alive and reverse the commoditisation of vehicle ownership. The first JTP vehicles are already capable products, further boosted with Jayem’s technical know-how of developing performance cars. Targeted at the urban customers and driving enthusiasts with a hidden streak of adventure, the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP have been engineered to provide customers the thrill of driving. The joint venture focuses on design and development of performance cars, including uniquely styled parts and enabling faster development, specialised capabilities, and access to true performance motoring pedigree.

Manufactured at the Tata Motors Sanand facility, the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP are powered by the 1.2L turbocharged new generation Revotron petrol engine delivering 114PS power and 150Nm torque. They will come with Multi Drive Modes – City and Sport, and are equipped with performance oriented intake and exhaust systems. The vehicles come with a 5 speed manual transmission with optimised gear ratios & final drive for superior acceleration. The suspension setup has been amalgamated with reduced ground clearance for improved driving dynamics. Capped at a maximum speed of 160 km/h, the cars get from 0 to 100km/h in 10 seconds.

The cars are not only performance oriented on the inside but sport a dynamic exterior too. The bold exterior includes a new front end design with a large grill, smoked projector headlamps, bonnet and fender vents, 15” diamond cut alloy wheels and side skirts. The sporty cabin is accentuated with all black interiors with sporty accents on AC vents, premium leather wrapped steering with contrast red stitching and performance aluminium pedals.
