Volvo’s latest compact luxury SUV, the XC40 has had an encouraging response in the Indian market. Within a fortnight of its launch, the company claims to have received confirmed bookings for the first 200 units of the R-Design variant.
Two new variants of the ‘European Car of the Year’ have been opened for bookings with scheduled deliveries later this month – the XC40 D4 Momentum priced at INR 39.9 lacs (ex-showroom) and XC40 D4 Inscription priced at INR 43.9 lacs (ex-showroom).
The XC40 R-Design is now available at INR 42.9 lacs (ex-showroom), bringing the introductory offer to a close.
Volvo is aiming to achieve a segment share of 10% by 2020 on the back of the successful launch. All variants are feature rich, with even the base model Momentum getting a panoramic sunroof, AWD, front radar, leather upholstery, 9” centre touchscreen, Hill Descent Control, and rear parking camera among others.
Volvo Cars recorded the best ever H1 with 33% growth in volumes in Jan-June 2018 versus last year. The robust sales performance of 1242 units is spearheaded by the XC60 which contributed 25% of the total volume.
