The new Volkswagen Passat and Tiguan win eight auto awards for 2018

The year has begun on a high-note for Volkswagen, with eight awards for its internationally successful carlines – the all new Passat and Tiguan.

The new Passat, in all its versions, has been one of the most successful premium sedans in the world and is one of the highest-volume series of the Volkswagen Group worldwide. Now in its eighth generation, it is regarded as one of the most innovative cars in its class with its distinct combination of power, performance and efficiency. One of the three finalists for the prestigious title of, ‘World Car of The Year 2017’, the Tiguan is yet another global best-seller from Volkswagen. With innovative technology, a powerful stance, and  enhanced safety features, Tiguan has over 3.5 million owners around the world.

Universally lauded for their class leading standards in safety, technology and quality, both the carlines define accessible luxury, and their breadth of capabilities have won over both customers and critics in India too. 

The new Passat has bagged awards for ‘Full-Size Sedan of the Year’ at the NDTV Car & Bike Awards, ‘Value Car of the Year’ at the 10th edition of the BBC TopGear Awards, ‘Premium Sedan of the Year’ at the Motoring World awards and ‘Executive Sedan of the Year’ at the Flywheel Auto Awards as well as the Quarter Mile Awards. Meanwhile, the Tiguan won, ‘Luxury SUV of the Year’ at The Auto Show Car India & Bike India Awards 2018, ‘Transmission of the Year – 4W, Automatic’ at the Auto Tech Review Awards and ‘Best Luxury SUV 2018’ at the Autoportal Awards.
