Volvo S60 Polestar launched at INR 52.50 lacs
Volvo has launched the quickest car in its stable – the Volvo S60 Polestar, at an aggressive price of INR 52.50 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi).
Polestar is the performance brand owned by Volvo. It takes the original S60, adds a bigger turbo, a supercharger, new conrods, new camshafts, a larger air intake and a higher capacity fuel pump to augment the engine. Added to the configuration is a BorgWarner AWD with torque vectoring and the new Polestar-optimised eight-speed Geartronic automatic gearbox.
The sedan features a 2L twin-charged (turbo and super charged) engine with a four cylinder Drive-E powertrain that produces peak power of 367 hp and 470 Nm torque. It races from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 250kmh.
The car’s weight has been reduced by 20 kgs compared to the previous model and is remarkably quick as it combines Polestar’s 20 years racing pedigree with Volvo’s inherent pragmatism and engineering heritage. It is a racing car that can be used every day.
New features on the cars include a 20” lightweight rim, Polestar calibrated electro-assisted power steering and a new slotted Brembo 6 piston caliper brake disc 371 mm. It is also equipped with radar based safety features that activates adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, collision warning with full auto-braking for pedestrians, cyclists, other vehicles and large animals, blind-spot detection with cross traffic alert, city safety feature and park pilot assist. This is the safest sedan in its segment with a 5-Star Euro NCAP rating.
The Volvo S60 Polestar comes in 3 colours – Rebel blue, Onyx black and Ice white and is available for deliveries across all Volvo cars dealerships in India.
