Volvo steps into the small SUV segment with the new XC40
The XC40 will take a fresh & creative approach, targeting millennials with a keen interest in fashion, design and pop culture; having an energetic & playful lifestyle; and living in large, vibrant cities. The SUV will offers a broader and more playful colour palette, making it possible to customize from a dozen of possible exterior and interior colour combinations, to build a distinct and expressive set of wheels that reflects the outgoing personalities of its drivers.
Street fashion, city architecture, high-end designer goods and popular culture are all sources of inspiration for the XC40, as Volvo’s design team defined materials, patterns and colour options for the new XC40. The team mixed them up and put them back together into something cohesive, to create a car with a tough attitude that feels fresh, energetic and confident.
Exterior colour combinations range from a solid monochromatic theme, to dual compositions in vivid colours that lends themselves to self-expression, while the interior options deliver a truly youthful and premium feel. New interior colour choices include a warm Lava Orange carpet, Oxide Red upholstery and a range of new and distinctive trims and materials with designs inspired by urban architecture and cartography. Natural, felt-based carpets, headliners and door inserts deliver a modern touch.
The Momentum trim level would be the most fashion-oriented of the line-up, with vivid exterior colour combinations, while the R-Design and Inscription trim levels would reflect a more dynamic and premium feel.
