Tata Motors and Jayem Automotives enter into JV for special performance vehicles

Mumbai, 31 March 2017: Tata Motors has announced a 50:50 joint venture with Jayem Automotives for developing special performance vehicles. As part of the agreement, both companies will work on an innovative range of niche products in the passenger car segment, in areas of performance enhancement as well as appearance.

As part of Tata Motors’ Passenger Vehicle business strategy, these special performance vehicles will be targeted to augment the latest product range to build aspirational cars. The partnership is likely to cut the turnaround time in bringing new products into the market, as Jayem is well known for its capabilities in concept creation and prototyping of special performance vehicles.

The JV will be based at Coimbatore and include design, precision machining, assembly and testing facilities under one roof.
