Rohith Mahalikudi wins inaugural edition of Red Bull Desert Wings University Challenge

Mumbai, 30 November 2017: The national finals of the inaugural edition of Red Bull Desert Wings University Challenge was held at Narsee Monjee, Vile Parle, Mumbai. A competition for students who are motorsport enthusiasts, the highly competitive remote controlled, ‘mini Dakar’ race with 8 finalists saw Rohith Mahalikudi emerge as the winner with the fastest time of 7.518 secs on a specially created track. He wins an all-expenses paid trip to Peru to compete in the World Finals at the University of Le Havre on 16 January 2018 and also gets to witness the Dakar Rally in Lima, Peru.

The Red Bull Desert Wings University Challenge had five qualifiers in Patiala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai and winners from each qualifier competed in the finals. It was open to all university students above 18 years of age.
