Land Rover Discovery & Jamie Oliver build the ultimate kitchen on the go
So JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) worked with Jamie to build a unique Discovery that has a toaster in the centre console and a rotisserie driven by the power take off. That’s not all. Jamie’s bespoke family SUV now has a slow-cooker that sits beside the engine, a pasta maker, a gas hob, a herb garden & spice rack in the rear windows. There’s an ice cream maker, olive oil dispenser, a deployable dining table and worktop, and the SUV can even churn butter as it drives. Smooth.
For Jamie, the result is an amazing Discovery. With up to 2,500 litres of luggage space and clever storage, the seven-seater Discovery was the perfect vehicle to modify. The SVO team has fitted it with a custom-made aluminium sink, a flat screen TV, deployable kitchen worktop that doubles as a dining table, a spice drawer, a bespoke pestle and mortar and a Land Rover barbecue. Quite amazing when you actually think about it.
Jamie’s three-part-series on his Food Tube channel will detail the entire build process, and show him cooking for his family with the bespoke Discovery. And you could watch it all here.
