Mercedes-AMG GT R clocks fastest lap ever by any production car at Buddh International Circuit

New Delhi/ Gr. Noida: Mercedes-AMG’s latest sports car for India, the AMG GT R clocked the ‘fastest ever lap’ by any production car at the Buddh International Circuit. Driven on the track by AMG Driver Christian Hohenadel, the lap timing of 2 min and 09:853 sec was confirmed by FMSCI.

Mercedes-Benz has a formidable presence in the racing and motorsports arena. The Mercedes-AMG GT R is set to officially launch in India on 21 August 2017 and the ‘Beast of the Green Hell’ as it is known, spearheads Mercedes-AMG’s model range globally. Numerous innovations and modifications bear witness that the road-going sports car has racing DNA in its blood. The foundations for its driving dynamics come courtesy of the front mid-engine layout with transaxle, a 430 kW(585 hp) V8 bi-turbo engine, extensively modified suspension, sophisticated aerodynamics, active rear-axle steering, bespoke tyres and intelligent lightweight design.
