Over 3000 Harley owners to join 5 year celebration of H.O.G. India Rally in Goa
New Delhi, 30 January 2017: In five years H.O.G. rallies have witnessed growing rider participation from across the country, and has become a mainstay in India's motorcycling events schedule. And to celebrate its 5 year journey, over 3000 H.O.G. members are expected to converge from 26 Chapters in Goa between 16 & 18 February 2017, at what will be the biggest H.O.G. Rally ever.
A scenic rally site by the sea will have a performance by comedy-rock band Vir Das’ Alien Chutney, a custom motorcycle zone and thousands of Harley-Davidson motorcycles cruising the streets in unison.
Here’s what you can expect at the 5th India H.O.G. Rally:
- Custom Champion Contest: Individual riders from all over India will showcase their one-of-a-kind Harley-Davidson motorcycles and compete for the grand prize of the H.O.G. Custom Champion Contest - tickets to the 77th Annual 2017 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
- The Big 5 riders’ patch: Four zonal rallies and one H.O.G. India National Rally are held each year. Once a rider attends all 5 marquee events in a calendar year, they earn the coveted title of ‘BIG FIVE’. This year, 130 out of 12000 H.O.G. members in India have completed the BIG FIVE, and will join a 300 strong BIG FIVE squad.
- TRIPLE FIVE: 8 H.O.G. members are on their way to join the ‘TRIPLE FIVE’ honour, as they complete 1 lac+ kms individually on their Harleys.
- Chapter of the Year - 2017: Each year, all Chapters organize multiple events and ride out to various locations in the quest for the coveted ‘Chapter of the Year’ trophy. This award is for the most active chapter, and for the collective effort and contributions made by the members in their chapter in one year.
The Harley Owners Group (H.O.G) is the official riding club of Harley-Davidson and was formed 33 years ago. It has 1 million members and more than 1,400 chapters in 140 countries. It is also the world’s largest rider club, providing members with rewards, benefits and unique experiences that enhance their motorcycling experience. It was formed in India in 2012.
