Karthick Maruthi wins Maruti Suzuki National Super League Championship 2016

Shimla, 22 January 2016: Karthick Maruthi in his Vitara Brezza won the 6th and final round of the Maruti Suzuki National Super League Championship, which concluded with the ‘Rally of Himachal’ in Shimla. Sachin Singh also in a Vitara Brezza and Jagmeet Gill in his S-Cross won the second and third place respectively. M. Musthafa was declared the best navigator of the championship.

The National Super League Championship encourages rallying among amateur motorsports enthusiasts and consists of 6 TSD format rallies. The season began early in 2016 with the Uttarakhand Rally, followed by the Deccan Rally in Goa & Pune. Then came the scenic Backwaters Rally across Ooty & Kochi, the Mughal Rally which was flagged off from Jammu, the Rally of Arunachal and finally the Rally of Himachal.

The Maruti Suzuki National Super League Championship is open to all four-wheeler makers without any need for customization in participating cars. The rally follows Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) format which is a rallying format that tests the skills of both driver and the navigator.
