The Volvo S90 launch event with designer duo Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla

Mumbai: Last week saw Volvo collaborating with India’s foremost couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla for the unveiling of their next generation luxury sedan, the S90 in India. The grand launch saw a specially curated show ‘The Enchanted Collection’, which introduced the designer duo’s new international label Khosla Jani. Shweta Nanda Bachchan was the showstopper at the event along with the Volvo S90.

The S90 is priced at INR 53.5 Lacs (ex-showroom Mumbai) and is a combination of immaculate design, precision and luxury extraordinaire. The collaboration with Khosla Jani’s international label underlines the essence of the carline. The Scandinavian luxury sedan in mussel blue was driven down the ramp by model Jesse Randhawa and got a standing ovation from the crème de la crème of Mumbai’s fashionable circuit.

The Volvo S90 is based on the acclaimed ‘Concept Coupe’ representing the next generation of Volvo cars. Design highlights include a chrome finished grille with concave elements that add dimension to the bold Volvo Ironmark, and Full-LED Thor’s Hammer headlights. The elongated profile with a signature shoulder-line gives it a luxury yacht-like presence.

The interior features a finely crafted leather dashboard, natural-finish walnut wood and chrome elements, perforated Nappa leather seats with heating and cooling, lumbar support and power adjustable seat extenders in the front, a 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System, 4-zone climate control and a sunroof. In the centre of the dashboard is the 9″ tab-like Sensus Touch display, which is the most intuitive and advanced in-car infotainment system for easy access to vehicle settings, entertainment, phone and connected apps, with built-in navigation and Apple CarPlay.

The event witnessed the presence of celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar, Sussanne Khan, Sonali Bendre, Abhishek Kapoor,  Shobhaa De and Namrata Dutt among others.
