Toyota launches the 2nd generation Innova Crysta at INR 13.83 lacs

Mumbai, 13 May 2016: Toyota today announced the launch of the new Innova Crysta, a much anticipated vehicle since it was first unveiled at the Auto Expo-The Motor Show 2016. Launched at a starting price of INR 13,83,677 and going up to INR 20,77,930 (ex-showroom Mumbai), the new Innova Crysta will be available in two automatic transmission variants (Zx & Gx) and four manual transmission variants (Zx, Vx, Gx & G).

The Innova Crysta impresses with its luxury styling and would set a new benchmark in the MPV segment. It has a custom designed feel to it, with trims levels that have been introduced in the segment for the first time. While the Innova has been the segment creator of sorts and synonymous with MPVs in India with over 6 lakh happy customers, the new Innova Crysta rises a notch above, combining SUV like performance with rich luxurious features and contemporary styling.

It has a completely new body frame, a new 2.8L diesel engine, and a new 6-Speed Automatic Transmission with sequential shift. It also offers a 2.4L diesel engine option with the 5 speed Manual Transmission. The Innova Crysta’s 2.8L 6-speed AT variant has an output of 174 PS and 360 Nm torque with a fuel economy of 14.29 km/l; whereas the 2.4L 5-speed MT variant delivers 150 PS and 343 Nm toque, with an even better mileage of 15.10 km/l (ARAI certified figures).

Available in sever or eight seater options, the Innova Crysta offers enhanced safety with 3 SRS Airbags as standard across all variants and upto 7 SRS Airbags in the range topping Zx AT/MT variants. It also has ABS, Electronic Brake force Distribution & Brake Assist, with Vehicle Stability Control & Hill-start Assist Control.

The exterior sports a new grille and sleek automatic LED projector headlamp & front fog lamps. There are smart electrically adjustable & retracting chrome finished ORVMs, and the vehicle sits on rather small-ish 16″/ 17″ alloys.

The silver & wood finish premium ornamentation and ambient lighting in the interior makes the driver centric flowing design look very sophisticated. Some key features include Eco and Power drive modes, cruise control, auto climate control with rear AC vents, leather wrapped multifunction steering, 3D combi meter with a 4.2” TFT Multi Information Driver Display, one touch tumble second row seats, parking sensors and camera.

The new Crysta is sure to give a fresh lease of life to India’s favourite MPV and continue to carry forward the brand legacy and category leadership which started with the Qualis first, and then the Innova.
