Maruti Suzuki’s much awaited compact SUV Vitara Brezza launched at a price of INR 6.99 lacs onwards

Mumbai, 08 March 2016: Vitara Brezza has been one of the most anticipated automobile launch of this year. And Maruti Suzuki today unveiled the stylish compact urban SUV at a striking price point of INR 6.99 onwards, which is expected to keep their booking counters busy for a while. Bookings are already open across the country though their regular dealerships (not NEXA) and with this launch, Maruti Suzuki now has a presence across all major segments in the passenger vehicle market.

The Vitara Brezza is perhaps the most striking SUV in the sub-4 metre segment in the Indian market. With a raised stance, square wheel arches and dynamic styling it combines style and glamour with a sporty appeal. With its bold + balanced proportions, dual colour scheme + floating roof, contemporary + sporty interiors, the Vitara Brezza is bound to hit the sweet spot amongst the young, who are looking for a set of cool wheels at an affordable price point.

It is powered by the acclaimed DDiS 200 engine mated with a 5-speed manual transmission and delivers 66kW power @4000 rpm and has a torque delivery of 200 Nm @1750 rpm. It is 3995 mm long, 1790 mm wide, 1640 mm high, and has a ground clearance of 198mm, sitting on 16″ tyres. It boasts of technologies like intelligent battery management, gear shift indicator, low rolling-resistance tyres that enable a fuel efficiency of 24.3 km/l, which is the highest in the SUV category.

Currently however, what is missing is a petrol variant (on the anvil), automatic transmission and plug-in hybrid technology that Maruti Suzuki has used successfully in some of its other variants.

The Vitara Brezza has bull horn shaped LED light guide in its headlamps and rear combination lamps, projector headlamps with auto ‘on/off’ function, an instrument cluster with 5 preset mood lights, an advanced SMARTPLAY infotainment system and an array of first-in-segment features. There are rain sensing wipers, auto headlight, cruise control, air-cooled upper box, and card holder in glove box, among others. It is high on personalization with theme based options like Glamour, Urban and Sporty; that can be experienced at the showroom itself.

Maximum usable space with the right proportions ensure high cabin space. Thanks to the compact engine, one gets a roomier cabin with comfortable ingress-egress, adequate leg room for rear passengers and good headroom all around. The all black interior has sporty bucket seats in the front and a large wide 328 ltr. boot at the rear, which can be extended with the unique flip folded seats and 60:40 rear split. Safety features include driver airbag as standard, with front passenger airbag and ABS with EBD as an option from base variant onwards.
