Harley-Davidson® launches the new 2016 Sportster® 1200 Custom in India

New Delhi, 31 January 2016: Harley-Davidson has launched the New 2016 Sportster® 1200 Custom at a price of INR 8.90 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi). The wide-shouldered cruiser is a combination of sporty agility and a custom cruiser attitude, with plenty of shine for that street brawling persona.

The design highlights include a chrome headlamp bucket and headlight eyebrow combined with a black powder-coated engine with chrome treatment covers. The pulled-back handlebar, forward-mounted rider foot controls, steel laced wheels, stylized LED taillight and two-up custom seat completes the look.

The 1200 Custom comes with functionality that includes an integrated electrical system with trip/ start switch, a handlebar-mounted electronic speedometer with odometer, time-of-day clock on odometer, dual tripmeter, low fuel warning light, low oil pressure light, engine diagnostics readout, LED indicator lights, gear indicator and RPMs.

The rubber-mounted, air-cooled, 1200 cc Evolution® engine combines with a 5-speed transmission and the front suspension and geometry is tuned for competent handling. The Michelin® Scorcher® 31” tires are also custom designed.

The Sportster® 1200 Custom will be assembled at the company’s Bawal (Haryana) facility, expanding Harley-Davidson India’s portfolio of CKD (Complete Knockdown) models to eight motorcycles and a total of 13 motorcycles.

The 1200 Custom is already available at Harley-Davidson dealerships.
