The 21st century Beetle launched in India at INR 28.73 lacs

Mumbai, 18 December 2015: Volkswagen today launched the 21st Century Beetle. Powered by a turbocharged 1.4L TSI engine and mated with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, it will come at a price tag of INR 28.73 lacs (ex-showroom Mumbai) and would be available in four colours at select dealerships across the country.

The Beetle has a cult following among automobile enthusiasts and classic car patrons, and the new 21st Century Beetle retains the core DNA of the Beetle carline. With leaner proportions, sporty and dynamic performance, stylish exteriors and luxurious interiors, it continues to remain an iconic symbol of freedom, love, unique styling and fun.

The 21st Century Beetle features an electromechanical speed-sensitive leather-wrapped multi-function power steering wheel with audio, telephone controls and paddle shifts. The 16″ alloy wheels, panoramic tilt/slide sunroof, bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights ( DRL), rear spoiler and heat-insulating glass in the side and rear windows are some of the other highlights. It also has a start/stop system with generative braking, auto headlamp activation, rain sensor and cruise control.

On the inside, it has “Vienna” leather seats, mood lighting, illuminated vanity mirrors in sun visors, front reading lights, dual-zone auto air-conditioning, sound system with 8 speakers USB interface, AUX-IN and Bluetooth connectivity.

Safety features include driver and front passenger airbag, combined curtain and side airbags, Electronic Stability Control with driver steering recommendation, ABS, hill hold control, electronic immobilizer, front & rear park distance control amongst others.
