Gurgaon: A combination of classic motor racing heritage and luxurious character, the new BMW M6 Gran Coupé, was launched in India today as a CBU unit. The petrol variant will be available at an ex-showroom price of INR1,71,00,000. The BMW M6 Gran Coupé is a flawless balance of power, dynamics, comfort and luxury, with motorsport in its DNA.

The exterior features signature M design characteristics like the eye-catching front apron with large air intakes, new Adaptive LED headlights and M-specific double-bar kidney grille. The sculpted front wings with hallmark M grills and forged M light-alloy wheels further enhance this impression. The rear apron has an integrated diffuser insert, two sets of M-specific twin tailpipes and the M6 logo on the boot lid. There is an ultra-lightweight contoured carbon roof which visually lowers the vehicle’s centre of gravity.

The interiors have door sill finisher with the M logo, perfectly contoured seats and bespoke colour combinations of upholstery. The cockpit features a multifunction M leather steering wheel, an inclined M centre console with controls for different M driving dynamics systems and the instrument cluster display. Airy and spacious, it is a through-loading hatch with 60:40-split folding rear seatback that provides for excellent everyday usability.

The M TwinPower Turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine throws a massive 560 hp (412 kW) of power and 680 Nm is available at all times thanks to the TwinScroll turbocharging concept. The 0-100 km/h sprint takes just 4.2 seconds. It has a top speed of 250 km/h and the company claims an average fuel consumption of 10.10 km per litre.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic, which has adjustable shift characteristics, a Low Speed Assistance system with a crawl function for increased comfort in stop-and-go traffic, and a Launch Control system. Shift paddles directly on the steering wheel allow the driver to engage gears with ease.

There are two M Drive buttons on the steering wheel for pre-programmed configurations for a sporty or comfortable drive. The vehicle comes with six air bags, Active M Differential, M Dynamic Damper Control, M Dynamic mode, M Compound Brakes, Active Protection with Attention Assist and Active headrests (front).

With BMW EfficientDynamics, the performance-to-fuel-consumption ratio is managed intelligently. The BMW ConnectedDrive driver assist systems and services include the next generation of BMW iDrive (the on-board Driver Information System) with touch controller, BMW Navigation Professional (integrated Global Positioning System) with 25.9 cm colour display, 3D maps, full-colour BMW Head-Up Display & M-specific views, Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices, high-end Surround Sound system from Bang & Olufsen and BMW Apps.
