Sant’ Agata Bolognese, 19 May 2015: For the first time in its illustrious history, Lamborghini is participating in the Concours d’Elegance at the Villa d’Este, a prestigious competition for classic cars. The event will take place on 23 May 2015 at the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este, and on 24 May 2015 at Villa Erba, Cernobbio, on the shores of the stunning Lake Como.

Lamborghini will enter its latest offering, Asterion LPI 910-4, in the competition. The car, which was presented for the first time at the Paris Auto Salon in 2014, uses Lamborghini’s plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology. Lamborghini hopes to win the highly coveted Design Award for conceptual cars and prototypes with the dramatic Asterion. The Asterion will be accompanied on the international stage of Villa d’Este, by Filippo Perini, Head of Centro Stile Lamborghini, who designed the Asterion together with his team.

With the Asterion, Lamborghini has provided a car which uses futuristic technologies to significantly lower CO2 emissions . It features a high performance hybrid system with a longitudinally-placed, naturally aspirated V10 5.2 litre engine. In combination with the three available electric motors, the Asterion provides a whopping power output of 910BHP. The combined power allows the Asterion to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds, with a top speed of 320 km/h.

The Asterion LPI 910-4 guarantees the unique, trade mark Lamborghini driving feel with sharp handling and a planted ride. In addition to a commendably low CO2 emission of merely 98g/km, the Asterion offers a pure electric range of 50 km for comfortable city driving.

Conceived and developed entirely in-house by Lamborghini, the Asterion LPI 910-4 takes the design and cutting-edge engineering expertise found in the current Lamborghini product range, and adds an innovative hybrid technology, thus creating a Lamborghini that is clearly different – with a new, futuristic and sensual design – yet still unmistakably a Lamborghini.
