Mumbai, 8 May 2015: Earlier this week, Mahindra & Mahindra announced the Mahindra Adventure Calendar for this year. Mahindra Adventure is an umbrella brand with a series of adventure and motor sports events under it, and showcases the tough and rugged DNA of Mahindra vehicles.
The highlights of Season 5 are the introduction of a new multi day expedition called Super South Drive; 2 new Great Escape locations in Nagpur and Chennai; and the celebration of Mahindra’s championship win at the Indian Rally Championship 2014.
The event details for this year are:
Great Escape – The off-roading event continues to test the endurance of Mahindra’s 4×4 vehicles on diverse terrains. Chennai & Nagpur are the 2 new locations along with the previous 8 spread across India. Winners from these locations get to compete at the Mahindra Adventure Off-Roading Trophy.
New Multi-Day Escape like the Super South Drive – An epic drive through southern India has been added. Other drives like Authentic North East (10 days) & Spiti Escape (7 days), which were added last year will continue along with the classics like Monastery Escape (Leg 1; Delhi- Manali-Jispa-Sarchu-Leh–Srinagar & Leg 2; Srinagar-Leh-Sarchu-Jispa-Manali-Delhi, for 10 days each), Royal Escape (6 day expedition celebrating the new year in Rajasthan), Tri- Nation Escape (Bhutan, India & Nepal – 14 days), Authentic Goa (The real Goa in 4 days) & Wild Escape (4 day foray into wildlife sanctuaries of Central India). These multi-day escapes celebrate Incredible India and the sub-continent by traversing exotic and unexplored locations, thereby bringing the concept of ‘Adventure/Driving experience’ to a larger audience.
Mahindra Challenges like Spice Challenge (4 days) & Monsoon Challenge (3 days) – These are TSD (Time Speed Distance) rallies providing adrenalin pumping challenges and promoting motorsport at the grass-roots level.
Mahindra Adventure will also continue to promote the tough and rugged DNA of Mahindra through the Off-Road training provided at the Mahindra Off-Road Training Academy. This is India’s first and only dedicated off-road training centre spread over 30 acres and located in the hills around Igatpuri, Maharashtra. Batches will be held every month to impart knowledge on the basics of off-roading and also provide a hands on experience to off-road enthusiasts with advanced technical skills.
