The new MINI Cooper S. Furiously fun.

Pune, India: The new MINI Cooper S was launched at an exclusive driving event held at Aamby Valley, Pune. With increased power and enhanced driving thrills, the vehicle is furiously fun and meets the aspirations of the performance-oriented MINI fans. The new MINI Cooper S will be available at MINI dealerships across India as a completely built-up unit from today at an all India ex-showroom price of INR 34,65,000.

On the exterior, the vehicle has a completely redesigned front grille with big air intakes and a black honeycomb-patterned grid specific to the Cooper S. The air outlet housing two fog lights at the back, the red S badges on the front grille and back, new body graphics and the newly designed full-LED headlights (optional) and rear lights give it a more mature sporty look.

The interior has a revamped dashboard with driving related displays such as speedometer and rev counter placed behind the steering wheel directly in the field of vision. The centre speedometer has been replaced by the all-new MINI Central Display which shows car information and entertainment. Increased interior space and foldable rear backrest with adjustable tilt angle makes it all the more functional. The six-speed automatic transmission provides improved efficiency, enhanced shift comfort and increased shift dynamics. The automatic transmission is combined with the automatic engine start/stop function to prevent unnecessary fuel consumption caused by idling at junctions or in congested traffic.

The 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine of the new MINI Cooper S delivers 280 Nm torque and makes the new MINI faster and lighter on fuel. It has a top speed of 233 km/h and does 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. MINI Driving Modes change the car’s driving characteristics, interior lighting and engine sound to match a mood. GREEN mode saves on fuel, SPORT mode tests speed and agility and the MID mode offers a more balanced behavior. Safety equipment comprises front and passenger airbags, 3-point seat belts, Dynamic Stability Control, crash sensor, Anti-lock Braking System and Run-flat indicator.

The Central Display is a pulsating hub of infotainment, and one can opt for a 6.5 inch display or a 8.8 inch version. MINI Connected provides an endless stream of digital information and entertainment when hooked up to a smartphone with relevant apps. One can follow friends on Facebook, tweet about travel destination or check in on Foursquare – it’s all possible. Optional features include MINI Navigation System Professional, MINI Connected XL, Wired package, MINI Head-up Display, Harman Kardon hi-fi system and LED headlights with cornering function.

Pepper White and Volcano Orange in non-metallic, and Moonwalk Grey, Blazing Red, Lapisluxury Blue, British Racing Green, Iced Chocolate, Thunder Grey, Deep Blue, White Silver and Midnight Black in metallic are the colors of the new MINI Cooper S.
