Mahindra Great Escape takes on the might of the Thar Desert in its 120th edition

Jaisalmer, 24 February 2015: Around 70 Mahindra SUVs took on the mighty Thar Desert around Sam Sand Dunes, in one of India’s most iconic off-roading events. The 120th edition of the Mahindra Great Escape concluded on February 22, 2015 in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan to an overwhelming response from invited dignitaries, which included CEOs of domestic and international auto component companies and agencies.

Participating vehicles included the Mahindra Thar, Scorpio, Scorpio Getaway and Bolero. The terrain was a challenge, with steep inclines, shifting slopes and treacherous sands dotting the 60 km track which included a 12 km off-road track. Participants also got a chance to see the White Special Edition Thar, which was unveiled at the event. On display, was also the 5 millionth vehicle, a Thar, that was rolled out from Mahindra’s manufacturing plant in Kandivali on January 5, 2015.

This edition of the Annual Mahindra Great Escape received a royal welcome in the city of Jaisalmer, flanked by the desert and magnificent sand dunes on one side and sprawling forts and palaces on the other.
