#AutoExpo2014 updates: Toyota unveils Etios Cross - its First Ever Crossover and the new Altis

New Delhi, 06 February 2014: Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. (TKM) today unveiled the New Etios Cross. It is on display along with the New Corolla Altis and all other Toyota exhibits at the Toyota Booth in the Auto Expo 2014 at Greater Noida.

The New Etios Cross will further expand the Etios family along with its existing models- The Etios, the Liva & the Liva 1.5 TRD Sportivo. The new Etios Cross has the design appeal of an SUV and would be available in a powerful 1.5 L & 1.2 L petrol engine and a 1.4L D-4D Diesel engine.

The new crossover from Toyota is positioned as a youthful yet rugged offering. Key exterior features include Grille Guard, Distinctive Side Cladding, Stylish Diamond Cut Alloys, Sturdy & Stylish Roof Rails, Bold Front Grille, Dynamic Rear Cladding with Badging & Roof Spoiler, Fog Lamps with integrated turn indicators, ORVM with Turn Indicators and Rear Defogger with Wiper.

Inside, the Piano Black Interiors, Sporty Seat Fabric with White Stitch & Logo, 2 DIN Audio with Bluetooth, USB, AUX-in & Remote and Audio control on leather wrapped steering wheel complete the look.


The New Etios Cross is available in a new sporty Inferno Orange and seven other colors and ensures the highest standards of safety with dual front SRS airbags, ABS with EBD and the promise of Toyota’s QDR (Quality, Durability & Reliability) standards.

Etios Cross is available with the following engine options
• 1.5 L Petrol (DOHC)  - 66KW (90 PS) @ 5600 rpm
• 1.2 L Petrol (DOHC) – 59KW (80 PS) @ 5600 rpm and
• 1.4 L Diesel (D4D) – 50 KW (68 PS) @ 3800 rpm

The vehicle is being offered in two grades each in petrol and diesel. The prices of the New Etios Cross will be announced in May 2014 along with the sales launch. Bookings for the New Etios Cross begin today.

Earlier at the Auto Expo yesterday, Toyota also unveiled the All New Corolla Altis. The 11th generation of the legendary Corolla comes with a revolutionary new style, luxurious and comfortable interiors and a dynamic performance. The new stylish grille, LED headlamps , LED Clearance Lamps (four)  along with New 16” Alloy Wheels add to the Dynamic and Keen Look of the vehicle. The luxurious interiors create an advanced and refined atmosphere. The plush leather seats, dual tone color interiors and cyber carbon piano black instrument panel cluster provides a rich feel. The New Corolla Altis is equipped with an array of luxury features - push start/stop button, smart entry, rain sensor, paddle shift, rear reading lamp, rear power socket.  New generation 7 inch touch screen, one button operation and voice command capable audio (with USB, blue-tooth, navigation, back camera and mirror link). 

The All New Corolla Altis

The All New Corolla Altis comes with best in class cabin space with rear reclining seats. The rear seat leg room has been increased by approx 100 mm due to the increase in wheelbase. To enhance the driving experience the petrol variant is available in both super CVT-i with 7 speed sequential shiftmatic and Paddle Shift, as well as 6 speed manual transmission. This enables a smooth change in gears and a better control over the car with more gear options, excellent drivability and class leading fuel economy. The low to mid speed range torque and high speed range output provides smoother acceleration in high traffic and greater acceleration on highways. The Diesel variant is available in 1ND D-4D Diesel Engine with Variable Nozzle Turbo & Intercooler with 6 speed manual transmission.
The New Corolla Altis is available in array of 7 exciting colours. The prices will be announced in May 2014 along with the sales launch and deliveries. Bookings for the The All New Corolla Altis was opened on the day of launch.
