2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid Electric Sedan launched in India

The new Toyota Camry Hybrid Electric sedan was launched in India today. The The eighth generation global sedan is a self charging electric vehicle with significantly improved performance & handling, better fuel efficiency, and low emissions. It sports a bold & dynamic design and comes with ultra luxurious and comfortable interiors.

Powered by a 2.5L 4-cylinder petrol hybrid engine, it offers peak power of 178 PS @5700 RPM and maximum torque of 221 Nm in the range of 3600-5200 RPM. The Hybrid System Motor Generator delivers a peak output of 120PS and maximum torque of 204.1 Nm.

The exterior design retains elements of the Camry legacy and yet manages to present a distinctive new look that is dynamic, athletic and modern. The bold face is characterised by a dual grille design,  sweeping lines, a new headlamp design and LED fog lamps. There is a new tilt & slide moonroof and the rear has a unique combination lamp design with LED brake lights and fog lamps. The 18″ multi spoke alloys complete the look that makes the Camry striking with a head turning road presence.

The interiors feature high quality materials and impeccable build quality and are draped in luxury; with onyx garnish, metallic accents, soft upholstery and more. Yet it maintains the classic Camry functionality and practicality, with space and comfort being the prime concern. And it also has one of the quietest cabin in its class.

The beige interiors have an understated elegance and the sweeping dashboard and central console have a flowing design that creates a sense of additional space. The front seats are ventilated and the cockpit features a 10″ Heads-up display. A host of comfort features include smart entry with start/stop button, 10-way power adjustable front seats, lumbar support and memory settings for driver seat, tilt & telescopic steering, wireless smartphone charger, steering mounted controls, rain sensing wipers, cruise control, interior illumination package, rear power sunshade, and more. The rear features power recline seats with trunk access, and a touch panel at the armrest.

The new Camry comes with a 9-speaker JBL audio system, onboard navigation and electric parking brake. Safety features include 9 SRS airbags, anti-lock braking system with electric brake-force distribution and brake assist, vehicle stability control and traction control, impact sensing fuel cut-off, parking assist, ISOFIX and top tether anchor for child seats.

The new Camry Hybrid Electric comes in seven colour options and is priced at INR 36.95 lacs (ex-showroom/ pan India). This is an introductory price and bookings open today.
