Greater Noida: MINI has kicked off the year with the launch of the all new MINI Countryman at the Auto Expo 2018. For the first time, the Countryman will be sold as a completely made-in-india car, and will be manufactured at BMW’s Chennai plant.

The new Mini Countryman will be sold in two petrol variants, the Cooper S and the Cooper S JCW Inspired, along with one diesel variant, the Cooper SD. Both engines are 2.0L motors, and while the petrol engine produces 192 BHP and 280 Nm of torque, the diesel variant makes 150 BHP and 330 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission.

The new Countryman is a step up from its predecessor, with updated interiors and new infotainment features. It is also bigger in size, has more legroom at the rear and upto 30% more cargo space. The MINI Countryman combines practicality with iconic style and has a classic street presence that is unmissable. The new design is more mature, and the Countryman makes a perfect car for urban thrill seekers who dig a bit of adventure in their daily lives.

MINI saw a growth of 17% last year, and BMW hopes to continue the success in 2018, with the new Countryman leading the way. Also showcased at the MINI pavilion were the MINI Clubman and Convertible, both of which have been refreshed for 2018.
