Mercedes launches the AMG CLA 45 and GLA 45 4MATIC

Chennai, 07 November 2017: The Mercedes performance portfolio has two brand new AMGs – the AMG CLA 45 and the GLA 45 4MATIC. The launch of the compact luxury performance vehicles mark the continuing global celebration of ’50 years of AMG’, and is aimed at young enthusiasts who look for everyday driving performance, practicality and luxury appointments in their set of wheels.

The AMG CLA 45 4MATIC is powered by a 2.0-litre 4 cylinder turbo engine producing 280 kW @6000 rpm and up to 475 Nm of torque between 2250-5000 rpm. It sprints from 0-100 km/h in just 4.2 secs and has a top speed of 250 km/h. Improved aerodynamics ensure additional high speed driving stability and the vehicle features a revised AMG front apron with new A-wing design, louvres in the outer air intakes, new front splitter, AMG rear apron with diffuser insert in a new design and four vertical diffuser. The AMG radiator grille with twin louvre is finished in silver chrome and the AMG E-SELECT selector lever and master key come with the AMG emblem. Dashboard and beltlines are in ARTICO man-made leather with red contrasting top stitching.

Priced at INR 75.20 lac onwards, the AMG CLA 45 4MATIC also has an ‘aero edition’ with enhanced design elements under the ‘designo’ umbrella, which is priced at INR 77.69 lac onwards (all India ex-showroom).

The AMG GLA 45 4MATIC also comes with the same 2.0-litre 4 cylinder turbo engine producing 280 kW @ 6000 rpm and up to 475 Nm of torque between 2250-5000 rpm. Its 0-100 km/h acceleration is marginally weaker at 4.4 secs, and it has the same top speed of 250 km/h.

In terms of design, the AMG GLA 45 4MATIC has a redesigned front apron and striking louvres in the three air intakes. Front splitter insert is finished in silver chrome and flics in high-gloss black for optimized cooling airflow. The ‘twinblade” radiator grille in silver chrome finish reinforces the AMG personality and a new spoiler lip improves aerodynamics, reduces lift at the rear axle, and ensures additional driving stability. The dashboard is finished in ARTICO man-made leather with red top stitching.

The AMG GLA 45 is priced at INR 77.85 lac onwards and the GLA 45 ‘aero edition’ is priced at INR 80.67 lac onwards (all India ex-showroom).

Both vehicles are mounted on 18″ 10-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels, painted in titanium grey and high-sheen finish.
