Mercedes-Benz launches the refreshed GLA. Prices start at INR 30.65 lacs
The urban compact luxury vehicle with SUV-like features fulfils the need of an avid adventurer to go anywhere – be it on daily tarmac or weekend getaways. Since its launch in 2014, the GLA has carved a special place for itself in its segment with top-notch interiors coupled with class leading performance and un-compromised safety features.
In India the GLA is one of the key volume drivers and is locally produced at the Chakan facility near Pune. The refreshed version will be available in three engine option – GLA 200, GLA 200 d and GLA 220 d 4 MATIC, which comes with a permanent all-wheel drive system and 7G Dual Clutch Transmission. The GLA 220 d 4MATIC features a 2,143 inline 4 engine with an output of 125 kW and a torque of 350 Nm capable of sprinting from 0-100 in 7.7 secs.
Exterior features of the new GLA include LED headlamps with fibre optics, crystal LED tail lights with reflector technology, a front end design with substantial radiator grille and 18″ alloys. There is also a new colour option, Canyon Beige.
Interior elements include sail pattern trim in the Sport variant and black matrix-look trim in the style variant. There is a central multifunction 11.4 cm colour display screen, smartphone integration package with Apple Carplay and Google Android Auto, ambient lighting in 12 different colours with 5 dimming levels, and door sill panels in brushed stainless steel with their illuminated “Mercedes-Benz” lettering.
The GLA has the maximum 5 stars in Euro NCAP’s safety ratings and comes with 6 airbags. Driver Assistance Systems such as Hill start assist, ESP, ASR, BAS are standard on the GLA 220 d 4MATIC.
The GLA 200 d Style is priced at INR 30.65 lacs, the GLA 200 Sport is at INR 32.20 lacs, the GLA 200 d Sport is at INR 33.85 lacs and GLA 220 d 4 MATIC is at INR 36.75 lacs.
