Mumbai, 19 April 2017: A host of innovative technologies like Android Auto, Connected Apps, Ecosense & Emergency Call now find their way into the new XUV500. These additions are targeted towards meeting the evolving needs of tech savvy consumers who prefer a more connected in-vehicle experience.

The new features will be available starting from the W6 variant of the XUV500 with immediate effect, which is priced at INR 13.80 lacs (ex-showroom Navi Mumbai). In addition, Mahindra has also launched an all new Lake-Side Brown colour with premium Black interiors in the W10 variant.

Android Auto. Designed to minimize distraction and enable the driver to stay focused on the road, Android Auto automatically pulls information from the user’s device and organizes it into simple cards on the infotainment system; offering easy access to calls, messaging, navigation, music and Google search.

Connected Apps. The XUV500 now provides India-specific entertainment, music, live cricket updates, flash news, and information on best restaurants amongst others, at the click of a button. Connected Apps provide access to Gaana, Cricket Live, Zomato, Book My Show and other apps which can be used via a wi-fi hotspot even if they are not available in the mobile device.

Ecosense. This feature helps in optimizing fuel consumption and reduces CO2 emissions by assisting the driver in driving efficiently. For every trip, the user gets an Ecoscore out of 100, based on driving parameters like speed, gear selection, acceleration, idling, clutch override and aggressive breaking. During the trip, the infotainment system keeps displaying an instantaneous Ecoscore and an average Ecoscore. The technology allows the user to share his/her Ecoscore on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. The user gets easy access to the Ecosense data and history on the infotainment system as well as on the Bluesense app and the With You Hamesha website.

Emergency Call. A first-in-class introduction, the Emergency Call feature in the XUV500 provides access to emergency services when airbags get deployed. It automatically calls the emergency service and sends a text alert to 2 pre-set numbers through a paired mobile phone.

Other features in the XUV500 include One Touch Lane Change Indicator, USB based audio, Voice Messaging System (talking car), Touch screen, Navigation in six regional languages, Onboard Audio-Visual Owner’s Manual, Mobile Apps, Park assist systems and Start stop technology amongst others.
