Production for Volkswagen Tiguan kicks off in India
Mumbai: Volkswagen has started production for its premium SUV Tiguan at its Aurangabad facility in Maharashtra. The Tiguan was first showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2016 and its introduction this year, will mark the brand’s presence in the growing SUV segment.
The entry of Tiguan, which is one of Volkswagen’s most successful global products, will give a boost to their current portfolio of hatchbacks and executive sedans in India.
The Tiguan will be available with a 2.0L TDI engine mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox offering a blend of performance, efficiency and luxury. The sporty SUV has been making waves in Europe already, where the second generation Tiguan is the best-selling SUV in its class.
