The 3 Series Gran Turismo has a modern character that blends luxury, sportiness and space in a new avatar. The exterior sports a coupe-style sloping roofline, a large automatic tailgate and four doors with frameless windows. There are L-shaped lights at the rear that underline the broad shape of the vehicle and newly designed adaptive LED Headlights with automatic height activation and four ‘white’ LED corona ring design. It also features Adaptive Cornering lights and High-beam Assistant system for optimum road illumination.

The interiors are generously proportioned, with chrome inlays around the controls, decorative wood elements and leather trim variants. The rear features adjustable seat backrest, flexible 40:20:40 split and a 520L boot.

The Sport Line variant features the kidney grille slats in high-gloss black. The interior contrasts between black and red; with red contrast rings on the round gauges of the instrument panel, including sporting chromo scaling, red contrast stitching on the sports steering wheel and trim strips in high-gloss black and coral red. The vehicle key is also designed in black with a red decorative strip, and additional upholstery options are available.

The Luxury Line features a black high-gloss chrome unit in the exterior. On the inside, the aluminium door sill plates, sports leather steering wheel, exclusive colours for the ambient lighting and chrome edging for the air vents are the design highlights.

BMW iDrive, the on-board Driver Information system has a 22.3 cms display, BMW Navigation system Professional with 3D maps (integrated GPS), BMW Apps, Park Distance Control (PDC), connectivity through Bluetooth and USB/AUX IN.

The petrol and diesel powered engines offer considerably more spirited power and spontaneous responsiveness even at low engine speeds. The 2.0L four cylinder diesel engine produces an output of 140 kW / 190 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1,750-2,500 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. The 2.0L four cylinder petrol engine produces an output of 185 kW / 252 hp and a maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1,450-4,800 rpm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 6.1 seconds.

The eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission collaborates well with the engine for both power and efficiency, and is available with steering wheel paddle shifters for an enhanced driving experience.

Safety features include six air bags, ABS with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control, Dynamic Traction Control, Cornering Brake Control, Side-impact Protection, Runflat tyres with reinforced sidewalls, emergency spare wheel, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensor.

Efficiency is enhanced through an aerodynamic design and details such as the side air blades on the tailgate and the air curtain integrated into the air inlets at the front. These are aided by additional features like 50:50 weight distribution, low centre of gravity, intelligent lightweight construction, automatic start/stop function, ECO PRO mode, brake energy regeneration, electric power steering and more.

The new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo will be available at all BMW dealerships across India from today onwards.
