Available as a Completely Built-Up unit (CBU), the Carbon Edition combines the MINI Cooper S model with the new JCW Tuning Kit, along with official JCW Accessories. Prices start at INR 39.90 lacs (ex-showroom) and one can book it on www.amazon.in/mini.
The MINI Cooper S Carbon Edition has the sporty character and aesthetics with matte black sport and side stripes accented by a red pinstripe. The word ‘Carbon’ is emblazoned on the sides coupled with the JCW aerodynamic package. There are newly designed LED headlights and rear LED lights surrounded by trim rings in black.
The car sits on 17″ light-alloys with 205 profile tyres. The JCW Tuning Kit and Exhaust is finished in Carbon Fibre and upgrades the power output to 210hp @4500-6000 rpm, combined with peak torque of 300Nm @1250-4600 rpm.
The interior features exclusive JCW sports seats with integrated headrests finished in Black Alcantara with contrasting red stitching. Other features include the JCW leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, JCW door sills and gear selector lever which is accented by the glowing red trim.
Powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with TwinPower Turbo Technology, the MINI Cooper S Carbon Edition happens to be the fastest and most powerful MINI in India. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes just 6.5 seconds. The engine is mated with a 6-speed Sport automatic transmission that can be controlled via the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The added functionality of Launch Control underlines the racing pedigree of this MINI.
There are three Driving Modes: the standard MID mode, the Sport mode and the Green mode. MID and Green modes allow for a softer suspension setting for city driving whereas Sport mode can be engaged to exploit the true go-kart handling of the vehicle.
Standard safety equipment comprises Front and Passenger Airbags, Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control, Crash Sensor, Anti-lock Braking System, Cornering Brake Control and Run-flat Indicator. There is an auto start/stop function, brake energy recuperation, shift point display and electromechanical power steering. Optional features include a Head-up Display, Navigation System, a bigger 8.8” screen with Touch Controller and Bluetooth mobile connectivity.
