The premium business sedan Jaguar XF just got a makeover and the new version was launched in India today by actor Jacqueline Fernandez. With the new XF, Jaguar introduces the Ingenium Diesel engine in India, and the XF will be available at a starting price of INR 49.50 lacs onwards (ex-Delhi).

The new XF sports strong lines and a sweeping dynamic character with improved aerodynamics, and features adaptive LED headlights, signature ‘J’ blade Daytime Running Lights, and tail lights with F-TYPE inspired double roundel and intersecting horizontal detail.

At the push of the start button, the car wakes up to mood lighting, as the air vents rotate open and the JaguarDrive Selector rises. The number of switches and buttons is kept to a minimum, making things easy to handle. High quality leather and detailing give the interiors a luxurious touch. The rear is even more spacious than before, with a 24mm increase in knee-room and 15mm more leg-room, adding to greater comfort. The mood lighting inside the cabin is configurable with upto ten colour choices.

The new Jaguar XF introduces the Ingenium 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo charged diesel engine that delivers a power output of 132kW. This is JLR’s new breed of all-aluminium construction engines that improve performance, deliver better efficiency and reduces CO2 emissions. It is up to 20kg lighter than equivalent previous generation engines, and intrinsically more efficient.

The 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo charged petrol engine on the other hand offers 177kW of power and responsiveness throughout the rev range, while improving efficiency. It is actually capable of ‘6-cylinder’ levels of performance and refinement, in a compact and economical structure.

Aluminium has been used to form the body sides, bonnet and front wings of the new XF, and the Lightweight Aluminium Architecture makes it significantly lighter, stronger and 28 percent stiffer than its predecessor.

A lot of new age technology can be found inside the Jaguar XF, thanks to its InControl infotainment systems. There is a Meridian Sound System and the Prestige variant comes standard with a 380 W Sound System with 11 speakers, and the Portfolio variant comes fitted with the digital 825 W Surround Sound System with 17 speakers.

Jaguar’s All Surface Progress Control (ASPC) is standard on all engines fitted with automatic transmissions and gives the XF added confidence over slippery, loose surfaces, undulating terrain and while descending a difficult incline. It is unique in this class of cars, and the technology is a low speed cruise control that helps the XF cope with low traction situations. Once activated, cruise control buttons can be used to set a target speed of between 3.6 km/h and 30 km/h – the system then works to achieve and maintain that speed while exerting optimum traction control.

There would be three diesel and two petrol variants of the new Jaguar XF, and the prices are as follows:
– Jaguar XF 2.0 l (132 kW) Diesel Pure: INR 49.50 lacs
– Jaguar XF 2.0 l (132 kW) Diesel Prestige: INR 55.90 lacs
– Jaguar XF 2.0 l (132 kW) Diesel Portfolio: INR 62.10 lacs
– Jaguar XF 2.0 l (177 kW) Petrol Prestige: INR 55.65 lacs
– Jaguar XF 2.0 l (177 kW) Petrol Portfolio: INR 61.85 lacs
*All prices are ex-showroom Delhi

Deliveries start from September 2016 end, and the car can be booked through any of the 23 authorised Jaguar retailer outlets across India.
