Posted on

New Delhi, 19 May 2016: Volvo Cars unveiled two new concept cars to mark the official launch of its global entry premium segment. Built around their revolutionary Compact Modular Architecture (CMA), the 40 series concepts combine bold exterior and interior design with industry-leading connectivity, electrification and autonomous drive technologies.

Volvo is going through a transformation globally, and its plans to venture into the entry premium segment is an important step in that direction. The new range will include a pure battery electric vehicle as well as Twin Engine plug-in hybrid powertrain variants, in line with the company’s ambitious target of selling a million electrified cars by 2025.

The new cars will also offer a full range of innovative connectivity services, plus the world’s most advanced standard package of safety features, alongside their much loved Scandinavian interior design. The first new 40 series car is expected to go into production in 2017.
