Mahindra launches 1.99 litre mHawk diesel engine for Delhi NCR region

Mumbai, 22 January 2016: Mahindra has swiftly responded to the three month Supreme Court ban on registration of diesel vehicles of 2000cc or above in the National Capital Region. The company today launched a new mHawk 1.99 litre diesel engine that would power the Scorpio and the XUV500.

The Scorpio with the new engine will deliver 120 HP while the XUV500 will have a power output of 140 HP. The development of the new mHawk 1.99 litre diesel started in August 2014 and it is tuned to deliver the performance of the current 2.2 litre mHawk engine. At the moment the optional variant would be available only for customers in the Delhi and NCR Region.
