Tata Motors launches the new Tata Safari Storme VX
The new 2.2L VARICOR 400 engine produces 156 PS power and 400Nm of torque, which is delivered through a new 6-speed manual gearbox, with a self-adjusting clutch and a shift-on-the fly four-wheel drive system.
The Safari Storme VX features Tata Motors new integrated CONNECTNEXT system with 6-speaker surround sound by Harman™. It comes with a new signature 3 spoke steering wheel which boasts of smart control features and an ergonomic grip, for superior command and convenience. The new CONNECTNEXT system has contemporary features like – Speed Dependent Volume Control, Bluetooth™ Hands Free, with CD/MP3/Radio/Aux/USB and iPod connectivity, Phone Book Download, Audio Streaming and a Reverse Parking Sensor Display.
The vehicle can do 0-100 km/h in less than 13 seconds and has a fuel efficiency at 13.9 km/l. It has a rigid ladder frame chassis, high structural strength, best load carrying capabilities and substantially reduced weight from its predecessor. It boasts of a turning circle radius of 5.4 meters and a ground clearance of 200 mm. ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) & EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) ensure better control on every terrain and safety features include crumple zones, side intrusion beams on all four doors, dual SRS airbags and the collapsible steering column.
In addition, there are features like the inertia switch and an auto engine immobilizer. In an exigency, the inertia switch automatically cuts off the fuel supply to the engine, unlocks all the doors and also switches on the hazard warning lights, warning other road users. The Safari Storme is also fitted with PES headlamps for better illumination and unwanted glare.
The new Safari Storme has a somewhat modified look. There is a new diamond motif and ‘Storme’ embossed in black, on the silver cladding of the hood of the vehicle. The roof rails have subtle changes, adding to the sportiness. The interiors come in a Java Black theme, highlighted by silver accents on the dashboard and door handles. The seats are designed to complement the interior with a fresh pattern on the insert and contrast stitching.
The spacious interior has ample leg space and headroom to accommodate 5 in comfort, with plenty of luggage space for longer rides. The 5-Link Suspension with Coil Springs for the rear wheels, with double wishbone suspension at the front, adds to the ride comfort.
The range is available in four variants and five colors – Arctic Silver, Urban Bronze, Pearl White, Astern Black and Arctic White. The Safari Storme will also be offered with a warranty of 3 years or 100,000 kms, whichever is earlier, extendable upto 4 years or 150,000 kms.
