India’s first electric vehicle expedition flagged off by Mahindra Reva

Srinagar, 16 November 2015: India’s first all-electric car expedition, the ‘Mahindra Reva Goodness Drive – Kashmir to Kanyakumari’ was flagged off today. The drive will see three expedition ready all-electric, zero emission Mahindra e2os covering the entire length of the country in a month. The e2o convoy will pass through 52 locations and traverse a distance of over 5,000 kms, demonstrating the advantages of electric vehicles and the car’s ability to traverse tough and difficult terrain.

The drive was flagged off by Arvind Mathew, Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Reva, in the presence of Aravinda De Silva, Former International Cricketer from Sri Lanka. Details and updates on the expedition are available on the website: www.theelectricexpedition.com.

The e2o is a pioneer in the field of electric vehicles in India and Mahindra intends to make it more accessible for customers, encouraging them to opt for a cleaner transportation solution for the future. It encompasses the ‘5Cs’ framework of Clean, Convenient, Connected, Clever and Cost Effective vehicle technology and is designed as a mobility solution for a sustainable zero-emissions society. This is particularly relevant in the face of issues like environmental degradation, pollution related health concerns, climate change, energy security and rising oil prices, all of which plague communities globally.

The e2o is manufactured in Mahindra Reva’s state-of-the-art IGBC platinum certified plant in Bangalore.
