Mumbai, 15 September 2015: Volkswagen and Mumbai Traffic Police have got together to strengthen the state of road safety in the city of Mumbai. The alliance kick starts with a social awareness campaign dedicated towards educating and sensitizing daily commuters on the issue of road safety and superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s presence at the launch added to the occasion.

As part of this initiative, Volkswagen and Mumbai Traffic Police would install 1500 strategically located hoardings with the campaign that would revolve around road safety, regulation and social awareness. Further, it would seek to increase public understanding of risk factors, road law and promote behavioral change, thereby inculcating a culture of road safety.

Safety is integral to the DNA of Volkswagen, and as industry pioneers in the automotive safety space they introduced dual front airbags as a standard for all carlines. The Volkswagen Polo also continues to be the only hatchback in its segment that comes with a 4-star NCAP safety rating for adult occupants. More details on the campaign in the coming weeks.
