New Delhi, Monday, 25 November, 2013: The Honda City has been a huge success in India, ever since the first-gen model was brought to India in the late 90s. The City has been one of the most celebrated sedans in Honda’s line-up, and has always received an overwhelming response all over the world. It is also one of the highest selling cars for Honda in India. And now Honda has unveiled the all new 4th Generation Honda City at a world premiere in India.

The next-gen model has evolved in style with its advanced sporty design, and now features the familiar strip of chrome in its front grill. It looks extremely futuristic and cutting-edge with its exciting ‘H Design’ concept that boasts of a Solid Wing Face, Well Toned Athlete Form body and Finely Honed Surfacing on the exterior. The new Sleek Cross-motion form exterior styling combines powerful One Motion Styling and elegant Coupe Styling to put together the perfect look for the benchmark mid sized sedan.

Styling apart, the main breakthrough of the 2014 model are its choice of engines. The City will come in three variants; a petrol manual transmission, a petrol CVT, and a highly anticipated diesel option. The diesel variant is significant, and features the same 1.5 ltr i-DTEC power train first seen in the Amaze, giving out 100BHP and 200Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission, which featured optimized gear ratios for frugal performance.

The 2014 City hits 100 kmph in 12.8 seconds and has a top speed of 163 Km/h. ARAI states that this engine gives a fuel economy of 26 Km/l and that makes the City the most fuel efficient car in the country.

Bookings for the 2014 Honda City have started, and the car will be officially launched on January 7th, 2014.
